Youth an der Wien

Jugend an der Wien gives young people the chance to find out more about opera as an art form and about an opera house.

In the programme for schools, school classes have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals at the Theater an der Wien or performances at the Kammeroper. To accompany these visits, a comprehensive range of activities is offered free of charge and tailored to each class.

Besides the activities especially for schools, the Jugend macht Oper section offers a highly individual experience of stagecraft and music: the annual opera produced and performed at the Theater an der Wien by young people gives the participants a look behind the scenes and shows the audience opera from a different perspective.

In addition, the Friends of the Theater an der Wien society gives young people and young adults aged up to 26 the chance to take advantage of special offers and concessions as youth members.

YOUTH OPERA / (14 -24 Years)

Von Oktober 2021 bis Juni 2022 werden talentierte junge Menschen in Gesang, Tanz und Schauspiel begleitet und trainiert und bringen ihr eigenes Opernwerk auf die Bühne.

Du willst auf die Bühne? Du magst Musik, Theater, Tanz, Schauspiel und Oper? Dann bist du bei uns richtig. Im MAI öffnen sich die Türen und die Bühne des Theater an der Wien für Interessierte aller Altersstufen ab 9 Jahren, die schon immer einmal auf der Bühne oder Backstage stehen wollten.
