Out of 300 applicants, seven skilled young soloists were chosen. They went through intensive training, have already worked in opera studios and ensembles, and will now make Wiener Kammeroper their new home

Elizabete is a native from Riga, Latvia, and studied piano, conducting and Lied accompaniment in her hometown. In 2006, she joined the staff of the Latvian National Opera in Riga as a répétiteur. In 2010, she moved to Valencia, Spain, where she worked as a coach at the opera company, the Palau de Les Artes Reina Sofia, and subsequently became a much in demand accompanist for recitals. In 2011 she additionally started working with young singers at the Music Academy of Valencia. Elizabete has attended master classes with distinguished artists such as Julius Drake, Helmut Deutsch, and Elly Ameling. She worked with conductors like Andris Nelsons, Zubin Mehta, Cornelius Meister, Omer Meir Welber and Alberto Zedda and coached internationally acclaimed singers such as Elīna Garanča, Asmik Grigorian, Ekaterina Gubanova, Bryn Terfel, and Dmitry Korchak.

At Theater an der Wien Elizabete will be in charge of coaching the members of the Young Ensemble and the guest singers at Kammeroper, prepares their roles with them, accompany them during the rehearsals and work with them intensely on their artistic development.

Born in Krasnokholmsky, Russia. Studied at the Russian Theatre Academy in Moscow. Previous roles include Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Mimi in La bohème, Marfa in The Tsar’s Bride, title role in Iolanta; at the Kammeroper: Irene in Bajazet and the JET Special Songs and Dances of Death. This season: Title role in Thérèse Raquin, Annemarie in Enoch Arden, Niece in Peter Grimes, Karolka in Jenůfa. JET Specials: Der Fall Straus & Don Giovanni.

Born in Vienna. Studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Finalist and winner of the young artists’ award in the Cesti competition for Baroque opera, 2019. Previous roles include Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Morgana in Alcina; at the Kammeroper: Idaspe in Bajazet and the JET Special Songs and Dances of Death. This season: L’amour in Orphée et Eurydice, Suzanne in Thérèse Raquin, Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Niece in Peter Grimes, Marie in Der Waffenschmied. Born in Munich, Germany. Studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and the Mozarteum Salzburg. Finalist in the Cesti competition for Baroque opera 2018; special prize in national singing competition, 2018. Previous roles include Mercédès in Carmen, Annio in La clemenza di Tito; Asteria in Bajazet, Myrtocle / Albine in Thaïs, JET Special Songs and Dances of Death. Born in Silver Spring, USA. Studied at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Awards. Previous roles include Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Tom Rakewell in The Rake’s Progress, Bénédict in Béatrice et Bénédict; Andronico in Bajazet, JET Special Songs and Dances of Death. This season: The Lighthouse, Camille Raquin in Thérèse Raquin, Spoletta in Tosca, Il Conte d’Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Windmüller Klas in Enoch Arden, Georg in Der Waffenschmied. Timothy Connor studierte an der Guildhall School und am Royal College of Music in London. Er war Teilnehmer des Britten Pears Young Artist-Programms und gewann den Kerry-Keane Award. Zuletzt war er im Opernstudio des Landestheaters Linz engagiert. Er gastierte bereits im Barbican Centre, am Theatre du Châtelet in Paris und an der Metropolitan Opera in New York. Persönliche Höhepunkte waren ein Liederabend mit Schuberts Winterreise und J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus an der Seite von Kiri Te Kanawa und Thomas Allen. Seit dieser Saison gehört er dem Jungen Ensemble des Theater an der Wien an, wo er bereits in Davies’ The Lighthouse, Pickers Thérèse Raquin, im JET-Special Der Fall Straus und zuletzt als Figaro in Rossinis Il barbiere di Siviglia zu erleben war. Am Theater an der Wien debütierte er in Lortzings Der Waffenschmied.
